Marla Maccia, LSW
Marla Maccia is a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker who began her mental health career as an HIV test counselor 10 years ago. She completed her Master’s degree in social work with a focus on clinical social work in 2015. Since then, she has worked with children, families, and adults, across various settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, and in homes, and now works as a hospital crisis clinician. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, self esteem issues, behavioral issues, developmental delays, adjustment disorders, and with individuals in crisis. Marla places great value on the connection formed between her and her clients and on creating a nonjudgmental space for therapy. Her specialties include working with children and youth utilizing play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, as well as with clients of all ages utilizing solution focused and mindfulness techniques.
