Lara Yeager, MA, LAC Lara has a combined 7 years of experience of working in the field. As a mental health therapist, she follows a person-centered approach, letting the client set the tone and pace of the session. She also believes in seeing the client holistically, taking not only their individual characteristics into consideration, but their environment as well. While she lets the client set the pace of the process, she also urges them to be an active participant in therapy and will provide challenges to facilitate their growth in a healthy way. To cultivate genuine growth, Lara will use an eclectic approach to tailor the process to the client’s individual needs. She is also a certified school counselor having gained experience with both elementary and high school students. Lara has primarily used play therapy when working with the younger population. Over the course of her education and career, she has worked with severe anxiety and depression, along with issues related to self-esteem and social skills. She believes the counseling process requires a strong base of rapport and mutual respect and she sees it as an opportunity to help individuals become a healthier and happier version of themselves.
