Diana helps many parents with children and teens diagnosed with severe psychiatric and behavioral issues. She works with children on the spectrum and specializes in working with divorced, adoptive and blended families. She has extensive experience with families with diverse cultural backgrounds and is very sensitive to their needs. These transitional issues can be very challenging to overcome but, together in therapy, she can help you and your child/ren foster a supportive, loving relationship despite separation and loss.
Diana's strengths lie in helping children, adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, severe trauma and neglect. Her approach in therapy is strength-based whereby she helps to empower her clients to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. She is a relational therapist and her methodology offers tools such as problem-solving, open communication and trust-building that promote healthy, productive relationships with everyone in the family. She also offers couples counseling which can focus on other important and sometimes uncomfortable issues that exclude parenting problems or matters with extended family. She feels therapy is most effective when clients are free to speak about thoughts and feelings in a safe, inviting and emotionally healthy environment. She firmly believes that every child, adolescent and adult has the capacity to change, if offered an opportunity for inner exploration and growth. Together you can embark on this journey and achieve your goals.
