Christie Giacobbe, LPC, LCADC, ACS, SAC Christie Giacobbe is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, as well as holds a certificate and works as a Substance Awareness Coordinator in the state of New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Ramapo College and her graduate degree from Montclair State University and has been working in the field of adolescent mental health and substance abuse counseling for over 14 years. She started her career working in a mental health partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program for adolescents and eventually came to specialize and work with adolescents and their families with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in an intensive outpatient program which she coordinated, before moving on to work with adolescents in a high school setting. She specializes in working with adolescents and young adults with substance abuse, anger issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, multicultural issues, women’s issues, post-traumatic stress, grief and loss, and self-esteem issues. She has also worked with families on improving communication and developing limits and boundaries. She believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive environment. She works hard to help her clients reach their goals and build congruency between their wants and needs through a variety of ways. She believes that building rapport and working with her clients to develop the skills they need to reach their goals is what encourages them to make positive changes in their lives.
