Ashley Patti, LPC Ashley earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a mental health professional, she has experience working in private practice and private school systems for children with emotional and behavioral disabilities. She offers therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, LGBTQ individuals, and families who are experiencing difficulties coping with a wide variety of obstacles including; adjusting to situational/transitional change, individuals struggling with relationships and coping with intrapersonal problems, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. As an advocate for the LGBTQ community, she provides a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Each therapeutic connection is unique and Ashley empowers her clients by helping them to discover personal strengths, develop and utilize techniques for coping, and by providing a link to available resources. She utilizes a variety of interventions and strategies depending on client needs, with an approach that leans toward a cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic orientation; however, she also believes it is important to focus on client’s current circumstances to help increase their insight and self-awareness to promote positive changes.
Helping her clients learn to cope and guiding them through a challenging time is what motivates Ashley as a therapist. She thrives by helping her clients get back on a positive path to living a quality life. The therapeutic process takes patience and motivation, and she works together with her clients to provide them with a supportive and caring environment, free of judgment, where they can feel safe enough to be open and honest.
